AFTER a long year of mock exams, hard study and GCSEs, our 2018 Year 11s were ready to say goodbye and leave for college and apprenticeships in the summer. This was not the last time we would see them.

Since leaving in June, our leavers have helped out on occasions like sports day and assemblies. On Wednesday, 14 November, Everest welcomed back our 2018 Year 11s. The evening was all about them and what they had achieved in their five years here.

Cameron Beaney won the Attendance Award, never missing a day of school in his five years of being a student at Everest. Joshua Williams and Jennifer Welldon won the Headteacher Award, while many others won awards for the subjects including Harriett Fennel who achieved GCSE grade 9 in maths, biology, chemistry and physics.

After all the celebrations everyone relaxed with drinks and cake, there were some very proud parents. After an amazing evening, we had to say our goodbyes to the Year 11s, and wish them every success for the future, but I doubt that will be the last we see of them.
