During my time at the Everest Community Academy, I have been witness to a huge myriad of events, from Spelling Bees to Dizzy Penalties.
Everest is now hosting an exciting new event, The Everest Masterchef.
Going by age, each tutor in a year group elects a representative and they would go to the food room to prepare. The challenge is that you get four unknown items, and once the challenge starts you must make the best of your items, along with any other items you may choose from the store cupboard.
The judging panel consists of our food tech teacher, Miss Newman and assistant headteacher, and self-proclaimed gourmet expert, Mr Murray.
This week’s ingredients were minced beef, half a pepper, lentils and couscous.
The winner of the Year 8 challenge was Richmond, with an amazing Moroccan-themed dish. The next challenge will be for the Year 9 tutor groups.
The final challenge is our Senior Leadership Team against Head of Years.
May the best team win!
