There has been an extra buzz of kindness along the corridors of Bishop Challoner Catholic School this week.
With their 17-strong team of anti-bullying ambassadors, they have been promoting the important message to #ChooseRespect across the school.
Together they have planned assemblies, run a competition, set up social media accounts to spread the anti-bullying message and even set up a pop-up photo booth for students to show their support at lunchtimes.
Here’s my interview with our anti-bullying lead ambassador, Lena Zdyb:
CA: So, Lena, what made you want to become an anti-bullying ambassador (ABA)?
Lena: As someone who has been bullied previously, I didn’t want people to feel the same.
CA : What do you like best about being an ABA?
Lena: The gratitude of people and making my school a safer place
CA: Were you ever bullied?
Lena: Through most of my school life I was bullied verbally and when I got to secondary, I was bullied online. This initiative is really important for me and all people. Everyone needs to stand up against bullying and it starts with the individual.
CA: many thanks Lena, enjoy the rest of the day.
