INTER Faith Basingstoke met for a dinner in Basingstoke as a part of Inter Faith Week.

On Thursday, 15 November, members of the organisation were joined by deputy mayor of Basingstoke and Deane councillor Diane Taylor, BDBC chief executive Mel Barrett, Hampshire chief constable Olivia Pinkney, Basingstoke chief inspector Matthew Reeves and chair of Basingstoke area strategic partnership board and principal of Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) Anthony Bravo.

The dinner, held at the restaurant in BCoT, gave the group an opportunity to relax with some food and discuss issues.

The Faith representatives used the opportunity of being together to observe a minute’s silence for those suffering around the world through the loss and horrors of violence along with those who risk their lives to bring peace.

The evening opened with a short address from the Deputy Mayor and concluded with and a short talk from the chair of Inter Faith Basingstoke, Bishop Graham Owen (New Testament Church of God), about the history of establishing Inter Faith Basingstoke and plans for 2019. Between courses the diners’ knowledge of Faith and Basingstoke was tested with a short quiz.
