A BASINGSTOKE nursery has received good marks in its Ofsted report.

Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool in Basingstoke has been rated ‘Good’ after a visit from the education watchdog.

The nursery received its inspection on August 7 and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for children.

Inspection activities included the observing the children’s play both during indoor and outdoor activities. Part of the report read: "The manager and her staff have a clear vision for the continued development of the nursery. Together with the leadership team, they accurately review all aspects of provision and set achievable targets for improvement that benefit their families.

"Staff create a bright, stimulating environment that fosters children’s impulse to investigate and explore. Staff provide effective support and challenge children’s thinking successfully. Children are eager to learn, enjoy their time at nursery and make good progress in their learning.

The report added: "Partnerships with parents are positive. Staff keep parents well informed about their children’s progress in the nursery. They offer guidance and ideas on how to support this further at home. Parents are overwhelmingly positive about their experiences at the nursery and speak highly of the staff and the care they provide."

Nursery manager Michelle Tamburrini said: “We are pleased that our partnership with parents has been recognised in this positive Ofsted report.

"We will always strive for further improvements as we move forward.”
