Everest's Head Boy and Head Girl laid a wreath at the War Memorial on Sunday, joining representatives from other schools and organisations to pay their respects.

Many schools throughout the UK are coming together with a minute's silence on Friday, at Everest we have a collection box on reception where students and staff can make donations of any amount and be able to wear a poppy to honour those we lost. We have also been using our tutor time to discuss and research Remembrance.

This year is a special year, November 11 2018 marks 100 years since World War One ended and the whole world is commemorating the deaths of the soldiers we sadly lost.

As the world began to get ready for their day the Armistice was signed. This was signed in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. In the early morning of November 11th 2018, more than 3,000 belltowers across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland rang out with the sound of half muffled bells like a slow march in memory of those who lost their lives during the tragic First World War.
