ANDOVER’S Girls’ Brigade have been doing their bit for the community presenting a charity with a £400 cheque.
On Friday, October 19, members of the group handed over the sum to Andover and District Mencap ambassador Iris Andersen, to go towards games and outdoor equipment for the disability charity’s new respite home, Rainbow Corner.
The girls raised the handsome sum of money by holding a sponsored games evening, where revellers took part in activities including a beetle drive.
Ambassador Mrs Andersen said: “I feel overwhelmed by the generosity and support given to Rainbow Corner by the girls and their families.
“The money will be put to very good use.”
