A STUDENT has earned a scholarship to help with her university fees.
Georgia Walker, 20, from Basingstoke has been awarded a £3,000 scholarship by the Savoy Educational Trust to help with the costs of her degree in hotel management.
The scholarships are given out to support students and encourage them in becoming the hospitality managers of the future.
Georgia, who has been working at Audleys Wood Hotel as a conference and banqueting supervisor, will be returning to education at the Edge Hotel School at the University of Essex as a result of the scholarship.
Georgia said: “I was really happy when I heard I would receive this money, it will definitely be of help to me.”
Along with other students at the Edge Hotel School, Georgia will be taking a degree which combines academic learning with practical hotel work in the campus-based house, Wivenhoe House.
She said: “The hotel management course is ideal as I will gain hands-on experience in different departments in a hotel whilst gaining industry knowledge.”
