STAFF from fast food outlets have rolled up their sleeves to clean up their community.

Franchisee Tony Bennett and a group of nine volunteers from three McDonald’s restaurants in Basingstoke teamed up with Keep Britain Tidy to go out and clean up.

The group went to Brighton Hill playing fields as well tackling litter around Hatch Warren, collecting six bags of rubbish overall.

This event was part of McDonald's national week-long anti-littering campaign, Love Where You Live.

Mr Bennett, who owns and operates the three McDonald’s restaurants in Basingstoke, said: “I was really proud to see everyone come together and help tidy up an area local to my restaurants.

"It’s a key priority of ours to ensure that the local area remains free of litter and an enjoyable place to live, work and visit. As a business we understand the important role that we play in making the area a cleaner place for everyone.”
