FOODIES and wine enthusiasts were given a treat on Saturday.
Berry Bros and Rudd, based in Hamilton Close, Houndmills, hosted a day to celebrate locally-made food and drink delights in its first ever Harvest Food and Wine Festival.
The wine merchants put on a showcase of local food and drink, with an array of artisan producers in attendance, as well as wines, both domestic and international, available for visitors to try.
Represented at the event were hometown favourites, baking company A Basing Bakes, with Helen and Harvey Lang bringing some of their pies and quiches for people to try.
Chocolates were also the order of the day, with producers Kokoh Chocolate presenting its multitudes of flavours.
However, it was the drink that was the main focus of the event, with many of the bottles of wine and other drinks that were on show being available for purchase with some discounts also available.
There was also advice and instruction on hand, as staff members from the wine-making company Cillar de Silos were there giving a masterclass in how to drink and enjoy the wine that was available.
The company makes red and white Spanish wine, both of which were at the event.
