HARROW Way students joined IBM to help the computer giant celebrate 60 years of research and development.
Year 8 and 9 pupils visited the company’s laboratory in Hursley and staff had a host of activities lined up including catching the ‘IBM hacker’.
Hosted by an IBM mentor the students were put to task to solve clues and eliminate the suspects from a range of 60 IBM staff members, and after they took on a quiz at the giant’s computer museum which demonstrated its contributions to the tech world.
Donna Robertson, Harrow Way’s curriculum leader of IT, computing and business studies, said: “It was a really impressive and thrilling day.
"Joining IBM for their Diamond Jubilee was a privilege. The day was great for team building, getting the students to use their English, maths, computing and investigative techniques while also thinking outside of the box in order to solve the mystery of the IBM hacker – which I’m very proud to say they did.”
