TOWN centre roads are to close for three Sundays for roadworks.
Resurfacing is to take place in the Victoria Street, New Street and Timberlake Road areas of the town centre meaning the area will be closed to vehicles from 7am to 7pm on Sunday 14, 21 and 28 October.
A signed diversion will be in place during the works, using Hackwood Road, A30 Ringway South, A340 Ringway West and A3010 Churchill Way West.
On Sunday, 14 October, although vehicular access to businesses and town centre car parks adjoining New Road will be possible, it will not be possible to exit the town centre via Winchester Road / Winton Square until around 10:30am.
This is to allow for the surfacing of the junction area.
Once complete, the junction area will be reopened to allow New Road / Victoria Street traffic to exit the town centre. New Street and Timberlake Road will remain closed for the rest of the working day.
On the remaining two days of work, traffic will be able to access areas adjoining New Road and exit the town centre via Winchester Road / Winton Square only. New Street and Timberlake Road will be closed for the rest of the working day.
Access to the Victoria Street / New Street junction from Winchester Road / Winton Square will not be possible on each Sunday.
