A MEAL with a difference is being offered tonight in aid of a charity.
For World Sight Day 2018 today, Helping Hands for the Blind is putting on a Dining in the Dark event where guests will dine using smell, taste, sound and texture, but not their sight.
The dinner is a designed to raise awareness and funds for the Helping Hands for the Blind, Basingstoke’s only local charity for people who are visually impaired or blind.
Held at The Holiday Inn Hotel, in Grove Road, the evening will begin at 7pm with live jazz and swing by musician Steve Conway.
David Chatten-Smith, chairman and founder of Helping Hands for the Blind, said “We are doing this to coincide with World Sight Day which is held every second Thursday in October, but also to give awareness to the community."
Tickets are available for £20 per person and can be purchased by calling 01256 463966 or emailing info@helpinghandsfortheblind.org.uk
