A BID to build 350 new homes in Bramley has been submitted.

A formal application has been put forward by Crudace Homes to build at Upper Cufaude Farm, in Cufaude Lane, in a plan which will include 350 new homes, a new school and a community hall.

The proposal has underdone extensive consultation with the public and council members in a bid to ensure the proposal meets the needs of the people currently living in the surrounding area.

If given the green light, the development will consist of a mixture of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

A planning statement read: “Essentially there are four different characters, the main street, village housing, greens and green edges which have different densities, housing mix, boundary treatments and parking typologies to provide variety and interest throughout the site.

“The new proposals incorporated a new school location [and], the integration of the Roman Road as an open space feature within the housing and the community centre.

“In addition, the land to the east of Cufaude Lane for up to 40 units was included within the overall master plan as requested at the initial design team meeting.”

Along with building new homes, the developers are seeking to create open spaces for the new residents, with a focus of creating a “community hub” feel to the development.

The planning statement added: “The development has evolved during the course of this time and has positively changed to incorporate all party interests to produce the structure for a later detailed design that we believe will be of lasting quality and build on the successes of Razor’s Farm and Sherfield Park.”
