ONE of the activities taking place in this year’s Basingstoke Green Week has seen visitors urged to get their goods repaired and not replace them,

Residents from all across the borough went to Basingstoke Makerspace on Sunday to have their broken items looked at and hopefully repaired, so that they did not have to throw out the broken items.

On hand at the Repair Café was a wealth of local expertise from the volunteers at the Makerspace, as well as members of Basingstoke Shed, the Basingstoke branch of Men’s Shed, a communal workshop experience for men to combat loneliness.

There was a myriad of items and objects that were brought in for repair, and it was not just limited to mechanical repairs either. Coats and clothing were on the list of repaired items, as were bicycles.

Green Week runs until Sunday.
