MOTORISTS were dealing with a sticky situation as part of a main commuter road was closed.

There is queuing traffic on the A339 eastbound on Kingsclere road following reports of a collision with a truck and a food and beverage van.

Highways England are currently at the scene clearing burger sauce and salad cream from the carriageway, which has made the road surface slippery.

Police were called to the scene at 6.30am, but have since re-opened one lane of the road between Crabs Hill, Wolverton and Roman Road, Basingstoke.

The road is now clear of all condiments and fully reopen.

No-one is reported injured in the incident.
