REVISION was the key to success for students at Aldworth School as they collected their GCSE results last Thursday.

Pupils from the Basingstoke school were able to join the school’s first residential revision trip to Hooke in Dorset earlier this year, supported by Sovereign Housing Association.

The weekend was open to students who teachers had identified as having the potential to succeed and who may benefit from some additional revision support to help them through their exams.

More then 60 students attended the three-day course, where they were able to focus on revising and revision techniques for the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

Students and teachers saw an improvement in confidence and ability to cope with revision strategies and students came away, not only with a renewed enthusiasm to revision, but highly recommending the weekend to the next year group. Of the 64 students who attended the weekend, the majority came away with higher results than predicted.
