TWO charities have teamed up to help those in need.

Basingstoke Foodbank and Citizens Advice Basingstoke (CAB) have signed an agreement which will mean an adviser from CAB will be on hand to help Foodbank clients from September.

A fully-trained CAB adviser will be in the Foodbank café area to offer free consultations and ongoing support to those who need it.

Phil Thomas, food bank chair of trustees, said: “This is a groundbreaking initiative to enable us to help Foodbank clients to get the help they need, above and beyond emergency food supplies.”

Graham Hatcher, chief executive of CAB, added: “We are delighted to partner with the Foodbank to help it achieve its aim to go ‘Beyond Food’ and to provide its clients valuable advice and support with their issues so that they can move forward”.
