THE cordon around a police incident in Popley has been lifted after a wanted man was on the roof of a building.
The area of Tobago Close and Bermuda Close, both off Carpenters Down, was cordoned off by officers after a police presence was seen in the area this morning (July 31).
Officers were called after a 28-year-old man was on the roof of a house in the area and refused to come down.
The man was subsequently arrested. Police say he was wanted on recall to prison, and has now been transferred back to prison.
Unconfirmed eyewitness reports said that the man was throwing tiles at cars and pedestrians, as residents were not allowed into the road at that time.
The cordon has since been lifted.
