A WITNESS appeal has today been launched by police after a bus crash which injured 12 people yesterday, including a two-year-old boy.

A Stagecoach double-decker bus crashed into a hedge on the B3400 at Oakley at around noon yesterday, closing the road for around ten hours.

At the time, 19 people, including the driver, were on the bus, believed to have been travelling from Andover to Basingstoke.

A two-year-old boy, a 67-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were the most seriously injured though their injures are now defined as not life-threatening.

Of the others on the bus, a further ten suffered injuries and were taken to hospital with no-one else hurt.

The road was reopened at 10pm.

Investigations into the collision are ongoing.

Inspector Andy Tester, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the double-decker bus prior to the collision.

“We’d also like to hear from any motorists who may have dash cam footage from the area around that time.”
