A DECADE of getting children prepared for the world of school has been celebrated with a party in the sunshine.
Piccolo Pre-School Nursery, based in Vyne Road, Sherborne-St-John, held a get-together on Saturday to mark 10 years since the facility first opened its doors.
In the grounds of Chute Recreation Ground, Sherborne-St-John, a host of activities were on offer with two bouncy castles, a barbecue, carnival games and a tombola among the attractions.
However, it was the return of some old pupils which brought the biggest smile to faces to many of the staff at the nursery.
Claudia Cafarelli-Hunt, manager of Piccolo Pre-School Nursery, said: “We had a lot of children who came to us 10 years ago, so they are in Year 8 now, which was really lovely to see.
“It was amazing to see how they had changed and grown up. It was quite emotional.
“The party was a nice way for former parents to meet and catch up with current parents about times at Piccolo.”
Overall, £300 was raised from the day which will go towards enhancing outdoor play offerings at the nursery and facilities that are available for children with special educational needs.
