THE son of world-famous footballer David Beckham surprised customers and staff when he popped into a village bakery with the father of a Formula One world champion.

Brooklyn Beckham and Anthony Hamilton, father of Lewis, posed for photographs with members of the public and happily chatted to them during their visit to The Bakehouse in Old Basing on Thursday.

Nineteen-year-old Brooklyn was photographed the previous night with his Spice Girl mother Victoria Beckham, who took him as her "date" to Elton John's Argento Ball in Windsor, a celebration of the AIDS Foundation's 25th birthday.

Brooklyn told fans in Old Basing that he was out for a drive with Anthony Hamilton, the father of Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.

Jackie Elmer, who met the pair, said she didn't realise who Anthony was at the time, and let him take a photo of her with Brooklyn when he offered.

"I went to take a selfie with Brooklyn and his friend said 'would you like me to take it' to which I said 'yes thanks'. Later on I found out the other person was Anthony Hamilton."

Jackie, a 52-year-old mother-of-two from Brighton Hill, popped into the bakery for lunch with her husband as a "spur of the moment" decision, and said: "It absolutely made my day seeing as I'm struggling to get rid of shingles at the moment and felt really horrible."

The acting manager for a mental health charity added: "I asked Brooklyn what he was doing round here and he said 'just having a drive'. I said to him if 'I can't marry your dad, at least I have a picture with you' which he laughed at. I was so excited."
