AN AWARD-winning brewery is getting in the spirit for the World Cup by offering a football themed ale.

Andwell Brewing Company, based in Hook, will be offering its Hit The Bar ale to a range of pubs across the south.

With the tournament kicking-off today, the special-edition golden blonde ale, 3.9 per cent abv, has been crafted by blending different hops at various stages of the brewing process creating a ‘striking’ beer with a citrus aroma and balanced bitterness.

The football themed pump clip will be seen in many pubs in the south of the UK throughout June and July for the duration of the tournament.

Richard Martin, managing director of Andwell Brewing Company said: “The World Cup is a prime occasion for supporters to come together in their local pub or bar and follow the World Cup to the final. Our Hit the Bar ale is the perfect accompaniment to this renowned tournament.”

The limited edition ale will be available to buy during the World Cup at the The Angel in Festival Place and The Maidenhead, in the Top of The Town.

Following a recent acquisition, Andwell Brewing Company will also see an increase in production of existing brands, which will continue to be crafted with the same care and attention, expand their presence in the UK with other themed ales and develop the onsite Brewhouse into a unique destination.
