FRESH from this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, a medal-winning nursery from Whitchurch will be holding a charity open day.

Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, who won a 23rd at the Chelsea Flower Show last week, are offering green-thumbed individuals the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the nursery with demonstrations from Rosy Hardy.

There will also be the opportunity to buy from the thousands of plants, including two brand new introductions that were launched at the show.

Gaillardia ‘Apricot Honey’, bred by Rosy, and Polemonium yezoense, or ‘Kaleidoscope’ which made the shortlist for Plant of the Year at the show, are the new introductions and will be available for the first time.

Visitors to the Open Day can also enjoy a slice of home-made cake and a cup of tea or coffee and Hardy’s will be donating all the proceeds from the sale of refreshments to Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices.

The charity open day will be held on Sunday, 3 June from 10am-2pm.
