THE picturesque Hampshire countryside will once again act as the back drop to a fund-raising car rally.

Following the success of the first ever North Hampshire Medical Fund Classic Car rally last year, the event will return for a second year.

Last year’s event managed to raise more than £19,000 for the charity, which helps provide specialist medical equipment at Basingstoke hospital.

There is no formal time keeping for the event, but it is an opportunity to showcase a range of different vehicles as they take in the rural beauty of the county.

This year’s event will take place on Sunday.

Drivers participating should meet at the Duncan Hamilton Rofgo, in Duke Street, Micheldever at 9am for registration.

The cars will then depart to take part in stage one at Middle Wallop Airfield, which consists of a two and a half mile stretch of track.

Drivers will continue on to Petersfield before finishing up at Ashe Park in Overton for refreshments following the rally.

There will be collection buckets at each stage and at the finish line with all the money raised from the event going to the charity.

Crews must raise a minimum of £250 for the North Hampshire Medical Fund per car, payable immediately to confirm the entry.

However, there is no limit to what a crew can raise and there will be a prize for the highest eventual donation.
