A PROJECT to save the roof of a former Tudor “power house” is entering its final stages with the scaffolding coming down.
The Vyne has been documenting over the past couples of weeks work to remove the 41 miles of scaffolding which was built up around the National Trust-owned building.
We’ve begun to take down 41 miles of scaffolding as our roof project gradually comes to an end. This 40 second clip shows the scaffolding roof struts coming down. Thanks again to all our supporters, without whom this project couldn’t have taken place. @southeastNT @BasGazette pic.twitter.com/Eyx8AT3Ueu

The £5.4m roof project was necessary due to a water leak caused by a storm in December 2013. Work began in October 2016.
During the project, visitors had the chance to explore a walkway along the roof to get a new view of the site and be part of history by marking their own tile which will be part of the new roof.
As we carry out the final stages of a £5.4m roof project, the scaffolding that surrounds the house is gradually coming down. You can see how we’re getting on during your visit. @VisitHampshire @southeastNT pic.twitter.com/HUTydeCUSS
