HAVING performed at renowned festivals such as Radio 1 Big Weekend and Glastonbury, one of dance music’s hottest prospects will be coming to B LOVE.

DJ and record producer Wilkinson is set to headline the main stage on Saturday night at the new-look two-day music extravaganza B LOVE music festival.

As previously reported by The Gazette, the now paid-for ticketed event will see rock group Reef headline the Sunday evening.

Now the DJ, best known for his top five chart hit ‘Afterglow’ which sold 500,000 copies and gained 65 million YouTube views, will perform his DJ set featuring MC Ad-Apt at the event which is funded by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and programmed by the B LOVE Forum.

Wilkinson is the latest act to be announced for the two-day music festival, formerly known as Basingstoke Live, which will bring more than 70 live music acts to five stages in War Memorial Park on Saturday, 7 July and Sunday, 8 July.

The borough council’s arts and events manager, Ross Harvie, said: “Together with the B LOVE Forum I’m very excited to confirm that Wilkinson is performing on the main stage on Saturday evening.

“Wilkinson is going to be supported by national and local artists, giving Basingstoke-born performers a unique platform to showcase their work alongside national acts.

“We’re looking forward to announcing headliners for all of our stages very soon, as well as our line-up for the main stage, providing more information on all the acts taking part this year.

“With such a diverse mix of music, displays and family-friendly activities, there is truly something for everyone at this year’s music festival.” More details about tickets and further acts to be added across the weekend will be announced soon.

The B LOVE forum aims to bring an eclectic line-up featuring something for everyone, from drum ‘n’ bass to rock ‘n’ roll and everything in between.

Younger festival goers will also have plenty to keep them entertained, with free activities for children including storytelling, arts and crafts, face painting, music workshops and a percussion playground for youngsters to explore.

The festival will also feature aerial displays from theatre company Ockham’s Razor and an innovative outdoor show by Zoielogic Dance Theatre.
