CHILDREN from Burnham Copse Primary School helped to launch a national initiative to get children involved in creating their play area.
Organised by Thermalplastic Designs & Lines (TPDAL) children up and down the country have been challenged with using their imagination to come up with new and unique ways to transform their school’s playground.
This is the first time a competition like this has been launched in the UK and it’s fired the imagination
of schools across the country.
The competition was opened at the Tadley school on Tuesday, 27 of March by CBeebies star and Racing driver Rebecca Jackson.
Managing director of TPDAL, Nina Osborne said: “The reason we wanted to do the competition is to give children a sense of seeing their creations come to life.
“Even before the official launch we’ve had more than 150 school’s around the country and we are already starting to see some incredible designs.”
Children at Burnham Copse Primary got to pose for pictures with Rebecca and her Porsche which she competed in the world famous Le Mans race, before giving a brief demonstration on the playground.
TPDAL aims to transform dull playgrounds into educational, fun and captivating areas creating a successful environment for learning outside of the classroom.
If you know a school who would like to take part in the competition more information can be found by visiting tpdal.co.uk/tpdal-schools-design-competition.
