RESTAURANT and pub owners helped give a village a spruce up as a way of saying thanks.
The owners of The Iron Duke Restaurant & Pub, in Stratfield Saye, went out and about on Thursday, 1 February after seeing in the parish newsletter a call go out to give the village a clean.
So, Matthew Corden and James Poole cleaned up various road signs throughout the village.
Mr Corden said: As we have just celebrated the seven anniversary of The Iron Duke restaurant and pub we were both looking for ways to say thank you to our village and supporters and we saw in our local parish magazine, The Loddon Valley Link, councillors had asked local residents to help out and give our village a spruce up, because some of our road safety signs were a little green and illegible.
"We all believe it is important to give back to our local community as much as they have given us. Throughout the year we will also be holding other fundraising events to support our wonderful area"
