A SEVEN-year-old from Basingstoke has won a swimming award after recovering from a broken collar bone.
Rosie Woodroffe was named Achiever of the Year at the Southern Water Learn to Swim Awards after being nominated by her teacher.
The award is for children who have displayed courage or ability and Rosie was nominated after having two operations for her hearing and 14 weeks off after a broken collarbone.
Swim teacher Jan Osborne from Basingstoke Aquadrome said: “But this hasn’t stopped Rosie. In the weeks since she restarted lessons, she’s been simply amazing.”
Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew and Invictus Games gold medallist Mike Goody presented swimmers with medals and certificates at the event at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth.
