A WOMAN is attempting to raise enough money to bring a stray cat that was “only days from death” to England from Ayia Napa.

Vicki Patterson, from Bramley was on holiday four weeks ago in Ayia Napa when she found a tiny, malnourished stray Kitten, who wasn’t eating and had puss coming out of one of its eyes.

Vicki said: “We have been feeding the stray cats for years while holidaying in Ayia Napa, I came across a tiny ill kitten and he was refusing to eat.

“The kitten was about 8 weeks old, he was so malnourished I don’t know how his little legs could support him. I knew that if I walked away he would die, simple as that.

“I contacted a local charity who said if I could transport him to a local vet they would pay the bill.”

The vet told Vicki that the Kitten had already lost one eye and had to have an operation to stitch his dead eyelids together, the vet also asked Vicki if she knew anyone who could adopt the Kitten, unfortunately she didn’t.

So, Vicki has now set up a fundraiser to help with the costs which will be £500 including vet bills that will allow her to transport the Kitten to the UK to have a better life with her sister.

Vicki has decided to name the Kitten Leo, because she believes he is a fighter, Vicki and her sister are desperate to bring Leo home and are now appealing to the generosity of the public to help raise enough money to do so.

Vicki added: “I don’t want to be known as the crazy cat lady, I just know that I want to bring Leo home, we’re so close to our target and we just need a little extra help.

“I can’t stop thinking about him so please, please if you have anything to donate, no matter how big or small, every little helps towards getting him to the UK for a better life and a loving forever home.”

Vicki has currently raised £265 from donations and is aiming to reach the £400 target to bring Leo to the UK.
