A KEYBOARD sponsored by Dawson’s Music in Festival Place has found a new home in the Assembly Rooms in the Market Chambers Performers Together building.
This means there are two major rehearsal rooms available at the space in the Top of The Town, the other being the Rodgers and Hammerstein Suite on the top floor which has been sponsored by B.A.O.S.
More than 20 different societies have used or are currently using the space in the historic part of Basingstoke with entrances in Church Street and the Lesser Market.
For those interested in seeing inside this building, there is a Christmas Fair on Sunday, 3 December from 11am until 4pm.
The fair is to raise funds to bring about some necessary improvements to the building that had been left empty for three years;it had been vacated by Anvil Arts on the demise of the much-loved professional theatre company, originally called the Horseshoe Theatre Company.
Each room in Market Chambers Performers Together has been given a name such as The Horseshoe committee room and the Haymakers Room.
Everyone involved in Market Chambers is a volunteer and there is a busy management team looking after the building.
The volunteers are hoping to start up a supporters club. For those interested in getting involved, email hannah.williams20@yahoo.com
To hire any of the rooms, email jillianbrannam@hotmail.com.
