A SILK mill stepped back in time in an appeal to encourage families to visit the historic attraction – to great success.
Whitchurch Silk Mill has announced it will be offering something new each week during school holidays in the form of craft and family explorer living history events.
In the February half term the mill hosted the first of these living history events with ‘Hooray for the Victorians’.
The mill said the event was well attended and a huge success as it relived the working Victorian Mill, aimed at children aged between seven and 11.
When the children arrived at the mill, they were told they had gone back in time to 1877, and received a character card outlining who they would be for the day.
They were also given 10 pieces of ‘evidence’ about their life which they would need to discover and collect.
