TRAIN customers are experiencing major disruptions to services from Basingstoke due to an electrical fault.
Following a significant failure of the National Grid power supply to the signalling centre in Basingstoke yesterday, a large amount of signalling equipment has been damaged, making many routes unusable for journeys.
Network Rail said that some services are running as normal from Basingstoke to West of England areas, but Dorset Coast services, between Weymouth and Bournemouth remain disrupted for significantly longer.
The disruption to people’s journeys is expected to last until the end of service today, with Network Rail advising customers to check with their local station before travelling.
