ONE of the UK’s most exciting MCs and the Original Rude Boy of Ska have been confirmed as the headline acts for this year’s Basingstoke Live.

Grime artist P Money and Ska veterans the Neville Staple Band will headline the free two-day musical extravaganza.

Held over the weekend of July 9 and 10, the festival gives local talents the opportunity to share the stage with national and international artists.

Organised by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, in partnership with Basingstoke Live Forum, will see P Money showcase his combination of grime and dubstep layered by his clever lyrical content on the Saturday night, before the Original Rude Boy, Neville Staple –best known for his work in The Specials - has the crowd skanking the night away on Sunday.

Head of development and implementation at the borough council, Chas Bradfield said the festival is something for the people of Basingstoke to get excited about

He said: “Basingstoke Live always offers something for all musical tastes.

“This year’s headline acts are no different and with a wealth of talent in the borough I am sure the rest of the line-up will be just as exciting.”

More details of the full line-up for the festival held at War Memorial Park will be released in the upcoming weeks.
