IT HAS been revealed that one of this year's Anvil panto stars is to host the Junior Bake Off.
Mark Rhodes, who will play Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk at The Anvil from December 10 - January 3, will host the new series of Junior Bake Off on CBBC alongside Sam Nixon.
Top international chef and food writer Allegra McEvedy and world-renowned executive pastry chef Graham Hornigold have been announced as the new judges.
The series, which won a Bafta for Children's Entertainment in 2014, returns to CBBC this autumn.
Forty of the country's best junior bakers, aged 9 to 12, will enter the infamous Bake Off tent and over 10 heats, their cake-making, biscuit-baking, pastry- and bread-making skills will be tested to the limit.
Cheryl Taylor, Controller of CBBC, says: “Junior Bake Off is back with a tent full of budding young bakers who will no doubt give their adult counterparts a run for their money.
"Let's hope that Sam and Mark rise to the occasion when we knead them - alongside brilliant new judges Allegra McEvedy and Graham Hornigold.”
Tickets to see Mark in Jack and the Beanstalk are available from the box office on 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk.
