HAMPSHIRE producers have celebrated success at the Great Taste Awards.

Over thirty products made by members of local food group Hampshire Fare were awarded stars in this year’s awards, which were organised by the Guild of Fine Foods.

The judges were so impressed by Stoney Cross, a cheese produced by the New forest’s Lyburn Farmhouse Cheeses, that they awarded it three stars and placed it in the Top 50 Foods list.

Parsonage Farm’s Air Dried Pork with Twisted Nose Gin was awarded one star, as was its Upham Beer and Thyme Salami.

Summerdown Farms’ Summerdown Mint Chocolate Thins were awarded two stars.

Other local award winners include Chalk Stream Foods, Jude’s Ice Cream, A Pinch of Salt, Catch IOW, Owtons Butchers, Charlotte Brown’s Handmade, Belinda Clark Gourmet Confectioner, The Tomato Stall, New Forest Ice Cream, Olives Direct, Farmers’ Choice and Wild Island.

Tracy Nash from Hampshire Fare commented: “We are so pleased for our local producers. They all work tirelessly and create such delicious products it is fantastic to see them receive some well-deserved recognition.”
