A BASINGSTOKE school which provides education for students with learning difficulties has been given top marks by Ofsted.
Dove House School Academy was graded as “outstanding” by the education watchdog for the third time in a row.
The school caters for students with learning difficulties, many of whom have autism and other associated conditions.
Inspectors described the school, in Sutton Road, as “high performing” adding: “Students achieve exceptionally well academically and vocationally”.
All areas were graded as “outstanding”. Inspectors said that students enjoy learning and have “extremely positive attitudes in lessons, contributing to their outstanding progress”.
Students’ behaviour was also praised, with inspectors noting that they are “polite, courteous and welcoming to visitors”. The report added: “The headteacher, senior leaders and governors ensure an excellent learning environment where students flourish, gain confidence and achieve outstandingly well. They ensure the best possible provision is possible by pressing for continual improvements.”
Inspectors said parents and staff are proud of the school, which has 188 pupils on roll.
Headteacher Colin House said: “I am proud of the “outstanding” outcome. It is deserved as everyone at the school works together as a fantastic team.”
