A TEAM from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust spoke to students at a Basingstoke college as they entered exam season.
Members from the trust’s Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) delivered a workshop at Basingstoke College of Technology, in Worting Road, on how to recognise the signs of ill mental health before entering exam season.
The trust runs Parklands Hospital, in Aldermaston Road.
For many people, exams are a stressful and anxiety-ridden period. While a little stress can help people perform better, too much stress can keep people from performing to their best abilities.
Dawn Pease, team leader of the EIP team, said: “It is really important that students, or anyone going through a stressful period such as exam time, recognise when stress and anxiety are building up.
“Knowing how to recognise the signs and then taking small steps to alleviate them is a really simple way of keeping yourself well during difficult periods.
“There are lots of different resources available now but often the small things like going for a walk or talking to someone you trust can make a big difference to your wellbeing.”
