A NEW cycling group has been formed in Basingstoke with the aim of helping people get on their bikes.
Cycle Basingstoke will campaign to make cycling safe, simple and enjoyable in Basingstoke and Deane, and will provide information and advice on cycling for its members.
Heather Rainbow, chairwoman of Cycle Basingstoke, said: “It speaks for all cyclists regardless of their age, experience, ability or disability.
“Already, Cycle Basingstoke has asked for a local cycle strategy for the borough and a cycle map designed by cyclists for cyclists. We are delighted that our council has listened to us.
"A cycle strategy is in preparation and a cycle map is out to consultation.”
Cycle Basingstoke meets at least once a month at Basingstoke College of Technology, in Worting Road, Kings Furlong.
