A BASINGSTOKE hotel is set to get bigger after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council gave the go-ahead to an expansion plan.
Q Hotels, owner of the Hampshire Court Hotel, in Great Binfields Road, Chineham, applied for full planning permission to build an extension to the existing hotel last December.
Planning officers gave the green light to the proposal last week. The expansion scheme includes 56 new bedrooms, a new conference suite, replacement of clay tennis courts and alterations to the main car park to provide an additional three car parking spaces.
As a result of the expansion, 12 additional full-time jobs are set to be created at the hotel as well as an extra 22 part-time roles.
Dan Kelly, general manager at the hotel, said: “We are delighted to confirm planning permission has been granted for the scheme at the Hampshire Court Hotel.
“Exciting times are certainly ahead, and we look forward to sharing our progress with you in the coming months.”
