BASINGSTOKE MP Maria Miller has welcomed a group of politics students from Queen Mary’s College to Westminster.
Pupils from the AS level politics course at the college, in Cliddesden Road, were given a tour of Parliament, and then quizzed Mrs Miller on the work she does in Parliament and as a constituency MP.
In the afternoon, the students watched the House of Commons in action from the public gallery, including questions to the Home Secretary.
Mrs Miller said: “I was really pleased to meet the politics students from QMC, and enjoyed the Q&A session with them. It is always good to meet young people with an interest in politics, and their questions showed how engaged they are with local and national issues.”
