THE annual celebration of country pursuits, the Hampshire Country Sports Day, returns to Tichborne Park near Alresford in September.
Highlights of the main arena include the Inter Hunt show jumping competition, demonstrations from hunter gatherer Chris Green the Cornishman and from Jonathan Marshall Falconry.
There is also a clay pigeon shooting competition with tuition stands for those who’d like to try their hand at shooting, plus fishing demonstrations, gundog and family fun dog shows and a terrier and lurcher show.
There will also be many experts on hand to give more information on country sports and to answer visitors’ questions.
Show chairman Bill Tyrwhitt-Drake commented: "The Hampshire Country Sports Day is a great opportunity for newcomers to find out more about country pursuits, while enjoying a fantastic day out.
“The show has been running for over 30 years and all profits are donated to the Countryside Alliance to help with their campaigning work on behalf of rural communities.”
The event takes place on Sunday, September 14 from 10am.
Admission costs £10 for adults and is free for children under 14.
