LIVE music and a chance to have a picnic in the sun attracted hundreds of people to a charity event on a Basingstoke farm.
Around 400 people attended the Summer Picnic at Manydown Farm on Saturday - an event organised by Wote Street-based cancer charity, The Pink Place.
Local bands such as Carbon Copy and The Red Heads played while families sat on the grass, enjoying food and drink.
Other attractions included a bouncy castle, face-painting, beer pong, a fully licensed bar and a display of sports cars.
The Pink Place took over the running of the event from fundraising group The Basing-stoke Unicorns, which used to hold the picnic in the grounds of Worting House.
The cancer charity will use the £3,500 raised from this year’s event to help refurbish its new headquarters in Wote Street.
Kathy Williams, community events organi-ser for the charity, said: “It was fabulous, especially compared to last year when the weather ruined it. It was such a fun day.”
