A CLUBHOUSE in Odiham – built to replace one destroyed by fire – has received a top award.
The clubhouse for Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club has been voted Best Club of the Year 2014 in north Hampshire by members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The £250,000 clubhouse, in King Street, has risen from the ashes of the pavilion that was destroyed by fire after a burglary in January 2012.
Donna Munt, the club’s bar manager, received a framed certificate from Brenda Cross, membership secretary of north Hampshire CAMRA.
She said: “We are all proud to win this prize as it is the choice of the 600 members of CAMRA in the area, who we are pleased to welcome. My bar staff are always pleasant and attentive to everyone.”
The club, sponsored by Andwell Brewing Company, is featured in The Good Beer Guide.
