NEWLYNS Farm Shop is to celebrate its tenth anniversary with an exciting re-launch and lambing weekend.

The North Warnborough farm shop first opened its doors on Monday, March 22, 2004 and started with just four staff and a small butchery counter. Ten years later, the shop has a workforce of forty-five.

It will reopen on Monday, March 17 with a larger, refurbished farm shop café, a brand new delicatessen counter and an extended butchery department with a new butchery product range including ready prepared salads, ready-made sandwiches, sausage rolls, spring rolls and other cooked meats and cheeses.

Abby Janaway and Emma Higgins commented: “Newlyns are celebrating ten years of continued success with an exciting re-launch of our North Warnborough premises.

“We'll be offering our customers even better facilities with a much larger and improved café area, a new outside play area for children and new mouth-watering product ranges in the extended butchery and delicatessen counters.”

Newlyns will celebrate the new opening with a tenth anniversary lambing weekend on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday 23 from 10am-3pm.

There will be a chance to bottle feed lambs, straw up the sheep beds, learn all about the use of wool, take part in lambing quizzes and watch the shepherd and his sheep dog round up sheep.

Different breeds of sheep will be on display as will chicks and ducklings from the local farm eggs supplier. Children can enjoy the mini tractor ride-on area and watch the sheep racing.

There will be a barbecue and hog roast on the day and plenty of chances to sample the products in the farm shop.

There's no need to book, just turn up on the day and help Newlyns celebrate ten years of enjoying food the Newlyns way!

This event costs £3 per adult and is free for children under three.
