FIREFIGHTERS in Hampshire will go on strike on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve as part of a dispute about pension reform.
The strikes by members of the Fire Brigades Union will take place between 7pm and midnight on Christmas Eve, and 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 31 and 12.30am on Wednesday, January 1.
More industrial action will take place from 6.30am and 8.30am on Friday, January 3.
Meanwhile, the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said the last round of industrial action on Saturday took place “without incident”.
It said it had 29 fire appliances available to respond to emergencies across Hampshire, which around 39 per cent of its usual number.
