FIVE candidates have put themselves forward for the three vacancies on Whitchurch Town Council.
As previously reported in The Gazette, three councillors suddenly resigned in October, because of “concerns regarding the town council’s ability to provide proper support and guidance for councillors.”
Former councillor Jackie Day also said in her resignation letter: “Due to recent events and communications within the council that I believe were unacceptable, I feel I have to stand down.”
Council chairman John Clark has refused to elaborate on the matter. An election will take place on December 12.
