A COUPLE who have endured the heartache of two ectopic pregnancies are now relying on the kindness of strangers to help them achieve their dream of having a child.

Lynsey Archer has had both of her fallopian tubes removed after the two ectopic pregnancies – one in September last year and one in August.

In an ectopic pregnancy, the pregnancy cells grow inside the fallopian tubes, and if left untreated, they can rupture and potentially be life-threatening for the mother-to-be.

Lynsey and her partner, Grant Stevens, 40, are now unable to conceive naturally and are appealing for help to fund the IVF treatment which is their only option.

They are not eligible for the treatment on the NHS as Lynsey already has an eight-year-old daughter, Emilie, from a previous relationship.

Lynsey, who works at Tadley swimming pool, said: “It would mean a huge amount to us to have a child which is biologically both of ours. The system seems unfair to us and it’s depriving Grant of the chance to have a child.

“When we made the decision to start trying for a baby, we didn’t think that we would have any problems but you never know what is round the corner.”

The couple hope to raise around £5,000 towards the treatment.

Lynsey, 32, of Franklin Avenue, Tadley, said: “We are hoping to hold a few events to raise some money and we have set up a webpage where people can donate.

“It’s a lot of money and we don’t have thousands of pounds lying around. We are saving up ourselves but we hope that people will help us out.”
