SCHEMES for defibrillators and community responders have been discussed and considered by Overton Parish Council.
The council is considering the possibility of purchasing a defibrillator to place in the town and training a local team of volunteers to act as response team for the area as Overton sits a considerable distance from nearby hospitals and ambulance services.
The Community Centre was a suggested site for the defibrillator and the parish council are to further investigate both schemes.
Overton Parish Councillor Lucy Sloane Williams said: “We have a relatively elderly population here in Overton so I really think these are good ideas. It would be wrong for us to not consider and encourage this.”
